Korean food is one of the great underdiscovered cuisines for international visitors. Beyond the staples you already know — bibimbap, bulgogi, kimchi — there is an enormous range of regional dishes, seasonal ingredients, and neighborhood institutions that most travel guides never mention. My food coverage is built to fix that.

I eat at the restaurants I recommend. My Korean food guide covers the essential dishes and explains what makes each one worth trying. Beyond that, I publish neighborhood-specific guides to areas like Mapo, Hongdae, and Gangnam — where to eat, what to order, and what to expect in terms of price, atmosphere, and English-language accessibility. I also cover street food markets and pojangmacha culture, with practical guidance on how to order and what things cost.

All prices in my restaurant guides are verified before publication and listed in both KRW and USD. I note when a restaurant has a long wait, requires reservations, or is only accessible if you speak Korean. I don’t accept press invitations or complimentary meals — if I eat there, I pay.
